The Maynas provincial mayoral race remains tightly contested ahead of the October 4 vote, with trader consensus reflecting a fragmented field and modest leads in recent local polling. Roger Gronerth Pinedo of Somos Perú holds the strongest position based on prior results and surveys from August and early September, yet multiple challengers including Joel Parimango Álvarez of Alianza para el Progreso and several independents or smaller-party contenders draw measurable support. No single candidate has consolidated a commanding share, and undecided or split preferences among voters in the Iquitos-centered province continue to sustain volatility. Upcoming debates or last-minute shifts in turnout or alliances could widen gaps before ballots close.
