Israeli leaders have tied any broader withdrawal of ground forces from positions beyond the Litani River to verifiable Hezbollah disarmament and effective Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) control in southern Lebanon, per the June 2026 U.S.-brokered framework agreement establishing limited pilot zones. Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz, have described the current security zone as open-ended with no fixed timetable, while the IDF Chief of Staff stated in mid-September 2026 that operations continue until Hezbollah is removed from the area south of the river. Recent LAF seizures of weapons in pilot zones have occurred alongside reports of coordination concerns and ongoing Israeli artillery and air strikes targeting Hezbollah sites. These conditions-based requirements and persistent low-level clashes shape trader assessments of timelines for a full pullback.

For this market to resolve to "Yes" it is sufficient that Israel announces its ground forces have withdrawn from all Lebanese territory beyond the Litani River, regardless of if some specified territory remains under their control or ground incursions by Israeli forces continue. However, an announcement of a planned or future withdrawal will not suffice.
The primary resolution source for this market will be information from the Israeli government, however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting confirming that Israel has withdrawn may also be used.
