This market will resolve to "Yes" if the listed country officially recognizes Israel as a state between market creation and December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of intentions will not suffice to resolve this market to "Yes." Only a government's formal recognition of the State of Israel will count toward a “Yes” resolution for this market. The primary resolution source for this market will be official government information. However, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.Syria’s ongoing security negotiations with Israel, accelerated after the 2024 fall of the Assad government, represent the clearest near-term catalyst for new recognition, with President Ahmed al-Sharaa publicly pursuing a broader peace framework in 2026. Trader consensus on limited additional recognitions by December 31, 2026, also factors in stalled Saudi normalization amid the Gaza conflict, symbolic Abraham Accords expansions such as Kazakhstan’s 2025 accession, and restored ties with Venezuela and Bolivia. Persistent barriers for holdouts including Iran, Algeria, Lebanon, and several OIC members reflect entrenched regional alignments and the two-state debate intensified by 2025 Palestinian recognitions elsewhere. US diplomatic pressure and potential Syrian breakthroughs remain the variables most likely to shift probabilities before year-end.
