Democratic incumbent Kris Mayes holds a clear edge in trader consensus for the November 3, 2026 Arizona attorney general election, reflecting her uncontested primary win and consistent polling leads over Republican nominee Warren Petersen. Petersen secured the GOP nomination in July by defeating Rodney Glassman, positioning himself as a Senate president focused on aligning state enforcement with federal priorities and ending Mayes' lawsuits against the Trump administration. Recent August surveys show Mayes ahead by margins of 3 to 8 points among likely voters, though substantial undecided shares—often exceeding 15 percent—leave room for movement. Mayes' narrow 2022 victory by 280 votes after recount underscores the race's underlying competitiveness in a state with divided down-ballot trends.
