Recent monthly inflation prints, including August 2026’s 1.7% reading—the lowest in over a year—have anchored trader expectations for Argentina’s full-year 2026 rate near 30%, with Central Bank surveys and IMF projections clustering in the low-30s amid ongoing disinflation under the Milei administration. The near-even split between the 30.0–34.9% (50.2%) and 25–29.9% (44.5%) brackets reflects uncertainty over whether the recent pace of monthly declines below 2% will persist through year-end or face offsets from energy costs, peso dynamics, or external shocks. Market-implied odds treat these bands as the most probable outcomes given the current trajectory of year-over-year CPI around 33.5% and consensus forecasts for continued moderation.
