Deborah Ross maintains a commanding position in the NC-02 race due to the district’s consistent Democratic lean, reflected in her 66.3% victory in 2024 and nonpartisan forecasts rating the seat Solid or Safe Democratic. As the three-term incumbent representing portions of central Wake County, Ross faced no primary opposition after her main Democratic challenger withdrew, while Republican nominee Eugene Douglass advanced unopposed with minimal fundraising and visibility following his 2024 primary loss. These structural factors, including a projected double-digit margin and Ross’s established campaign infrastructure, underpin trader consensus on her strong reelection prospects. Late developments such as a major scandal, health event, or unanticipated national political shift could still alter the outcome before November 3, 2026.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
