Official National Weather Service observations recorded a maximum of 101°F at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on September 9, 2026, tying the daily record set in 1954 and exceeding the 1991–2020 normal of 91°F by 10 degrees. Persistent high pressure, southerly flow, and a multi-week drought maintained clear skies and elevated heat indices near 105–107°F, with no measurable precipitation to moderate temperatures. This aligns with the market’s near-certain pricing on the 100–101°F bin. Resolution hinges on final NWS climatological data releases; minor adjustments from station comparisons or quality-control reviews remain theoretically possible but improbable given consistent preliminary reports.
