Sam Gilliam’s “Untitled” is slated for auction on October 7, 2026, with Polymarket markets tracking whether it clears successive price thresholds. Recent comparable sales provide the main context for trader positioning: mid-sized acrylic and collage works from the 1970s–1990s have realized $40,000–$180,000 at Christie’s and Sotheby’s this year, often meeting or exceeding estimates, while larger or earlier draped canvases have reached $300,000-plus. Smaller paper works and prints typically land in the low-to-mid five figures. Continued institutional and collector interest in Gilliam’s abstract color-field innovations, combined with steady secondary-market activity through the summer, supports current implied probabilities. The next key catalysts are the release of the full lot details and any pre-sale estimates or exhibition previews expected in the coming weeks.
