Benedita da Silva (PT) holds the clearest lead in recent polling for first place in Rio de Janeiro’s two-seat Senate race, with Datafolha’s mid-September survey showing her at 18% combined intentions and 30% on first-choice votes. This underpins trader consensus favoring her over a crowded field where Carlos Jordy and Carlos Portinho (both PL), Marcelo Crivella (Republicanos), Pedro Paulo (PSD), and Monica Benicio (PSOL) remain statistically tied for second within margins of error. High undecided and blank/null shares—often exceeding 25%—plus the mechanics of voters selecting two names sustain volatility. September polling has shown modest gains for the PL pair without altering the overall ordering, leaving limited room for late shifts absent major alliance changes or turnout surges before October.
