Recent August CPI data at 1.7% month-over-month—the lowest in 14 months—has anchored trader expectations for September around the 1.8-2.0% range amid persistent food price pressures that are complicating the disinflation trajectory. Core inflation held steady near 1.8%, while regulated and seasonal components showed mixed movements, with analysts citing ongoing inertia in services and goods categories. The BCRA's REM median stands at 1.8% for September, consistent with private forecasts clustering between 1.6% and 1.9%, though some high-frequency indicators point to potential upside from alimentary items. These dynamics underpin the market-implied odds favoring the 1.9-2.1% bucket as the consensus outcome ahead of the mid-October release, reflecting real-capital positioning on sticky monthly readings near recent lows rather than a sharper drop.
