Forecast models from agencies including MetService and international ensembles indicate a maximum temperature near 13–14°C for Wellington on September 11 under mostly sunny skies, moderate northwest flow, and dew points in the low single digits Celsius, consistent with early-spring climatology where daily highs typically range 13–15°C. Recent model runs show limited spread, with the primary uncertainty tied to exact timing of any cloud increase or wind shift that could trim the peak by 1°C. Market-implied odds heavily favoring 15°C reflect trader assessment of modest upside potential from localized warming or measurement at urban stations versus the airport reference, while the 23% on 14°C and 13.5% on 16°C capture the narrow envelope of plausible outcomes ahead of final observational data.
