Cait Conley leads trader pricing in the NY-17 contest because the district favored Kamala Harris in 2024, features roughly 80,000 more registered Democrats than Republicans, and carries a toss-up rating from the Cook Political Report. Conley’s decisive June 2026 Democratic primary victory consolidated party resources behind the Army veteran and former National Security Council official, positioning her as a credible challenger to incumbent Mike Lawler. Lawler maintains a cash-on-hand edge and launched a September ad campaign targeting Conley’s ties to defense contractors and AI firms, yet recent polling shows only narrow margins. The race remains one of the most expensive and closely watched House contests, with outside spending and voter turnout in the Hudson Valley suburbs likely to determine the final outcome.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
