This market will resolve according to the winner of the 2026 North Carolina Supreme Court election. A candidate shall be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic or Republican nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) may be added at a later date. Candidates who run as independents will not be encompassed by the “Democrat” or “Republican” options regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party. The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call the race for the same candidate. If all three sources haven’t called the race in this state for the same candidate, this market will resolve based on the official certification.Incumbent Democratic Justice Anita Earls holds a clear edge in the North Carolina Supreme Court race for the November 3, 2026, general election, driven by her recent polling lead and substantial fundraising advantage over Republican challenger Sarah Stevens. A late-September Harper Polling survey showed Earls ahead 47% to 36%, widening from earlier statistical ties, while Earls has raised over $4.4 million compared to Stevens’ roughly $336,000. Stevens resigned her state House seat in June to campaign full-time. Absentee voting opened in early September ahead of the voter registration deadline, with both candidates emphasizing differences on voting rights and judicial precedent in their official statements. Trader consensus in the market aligns with these indicators of Earls’ stronger position in the partisan contest.
