The GA-11 race features an open seat after incumbent Barry Loudermilk’s retirement, with Republican nominee John Cowan facing Democrat Chris Harden and two independents on the November 3 ballot. Georgia’s majority requirement means a December runoff occurs if no candidate exceeds 50 percent. The district’s R+12 partisan lean and prior Republican margins above 65 percent support trader expectations of an outright winner, yet the additional candidates create a modest risk of vote splitting that could force a second round. Recent ratings from Cook, Sabato, and others remain Solid or Safe Republican, with no major late shifts reported in the past month.
