Chou Chun-mi, the Democratic Progressive Party incumbent seeking re-election on November 28, 2026, holds an 87.5% implied probability in the Pingtung County magistrate market, reflecting trader consensus on her structural advantages in a county with longstanding DPP support. Her position draws from a solid record of attracting technology investments, expanding social programs, and recent high satisfaction ratings, including a national fourth-place ranking in September 2026 surveys. The Kuomintang challenger, Su Ching-chuan, trails at 12% amid a June 2026 indictment tied to building violations in a 2024 hospital fire case that killed nine people, which has weighed on his rematch campaign despite emphasis on healthcare and infrastructure. No significant third-party entrants have emerged to alter the dynamics ahead of the vote.
