Chung Tung-chin holds a commanding lead in the Miaoli County magistrate race as the incumbent seeking reelection on November 28, 2026. Recent county and independent surveys show his approval ratings above 75 percent, with satisfaction exceeding 80 percent in areas such as social welfare, tourism, healthcare, and agricultural marketing. Strong pan-blue consolidation behind the KMT candidate, including endorsements from party figures and the Taiwan People’s Party, has limited fragmentation in this traditionally Kuomintang-leaning county. Chen Pin-an, the DPP nominee and county councilor, faces structural challenges with lower visibility and no significant pan-green momentum reported. Trader consensus reflects these incumbency and performance factors, though late developments such as major scandals, health events, or sharp turnout shifts could still affect the outcome before voting.
