Juwan Johnson enters the 2026 NFL season as the New Orleans Saints' clear starting tight end atop a depth chart that includes Noah Fant and rookie Oscar Delp. He is coming off a career-high 889 receiving yards and 102 targets in 2025 while playing all 17 games in Kellen Moore's offense. First-round rookie wideout Jordyn Tyson’s hamstring injury is expected to sideline him for at least the first month, potentially increasing Johnson’s early targets behind Chris Olave. However, the additions of Tyson and Fant create long-term competition for looks in a passing attack led by quarterback Tyler Shough. Johnson, who turns 30 on September 13 and restructured his contract to remain under team control, projects for a steady but possibly reduced share compared to last year’s volume-driven output.
