National Weather Service model consensus currently positions 82-83°F as the leading outcome for New York City’s highest temperature on September 17, driven by a stable high-pressure ridge and moderate Atlantic sea-surface temperatures that constrain afternoon warming. Mid-September climatology shows typical highs near 78°F, yet recent regional observations indicate slightly elevated readings consistent with the market’s 59% implied probability for the 82-83°F bin. Traders are watching the next National Weather Service forecast update and any shifts in boundary-layer wind or humidity, as small changes could move the peak within the 80-85°F range that together holds over 95% of the probability mass.
