Official National Weather Service observations at Austin Bergstrom International Airport station recorded a daily maximum of 101°F on September 14, 2026, directly confirming the market-implied 100-101°F outcome at near-certainty. This value aligned with persistent hot, dry conditions under southerly flow and low precipitation, consistent with late-summer climatology where September averages hover near 91°F but recent heat anomalies pushed readings 10°F above normal. The consensus reflects traders incorporating real-time forecast verification and station data rather than models. Minor revisions to preliminary reports or use of an alternate station could theoretically shift the exact bin, though historical resolution practices prioritize the primary KAUS observation.
