Angie Nixon holds a commanding lead in trader pricing for the Broward County winner in Florida’s 2026 U.S. Senate special election due to the county’s longstanding Democratic registration edge of nearly 200,000 voters and its consistent support for Democratic candidates in statewide races. Nixon, the Democratic nominee after an August primary upset, won the county by double digits against her primary opponent and has drawn endorsements from prominent progressives while maintaining strong grassroots organization in South Florida. Recent resolution of her May protest-related charges removes a potential distraction ahead of the November vote. Ashley Moody, the Republican incumbent appointed by Governor Ron DeSantis, faces structural headwinds in this heavily Democratic area despite her statewide profile. Shifts in county turnout patterns or late-campaign developments could narrow the margin, though historical voting data in Broward limits realistic paths for a Republican upset there.
