Ashley Moody holds a clear lead in Miami-Dade County trading at 62.5% implied probability, ahead of Angie Nixon at 18%, reflecting the Republican incumbent’s strong post-primary positioning in the November 3 special election. Moody secured her nomination with nearly 80% of the GOP primary vote after her 2025 appointment to the seat vacated by Marco Rubio, benefiting from substantial fundraising, broad party infrastructure, and alignment with statewide Republican trends. Nixon’s August upset victory over Alex Vindman highlighted progressive priorities such as housing costs and wages that resonate in the diverse urban county, yet her lower profile and limited resources have not closed the gap in trader assessments. Recent polling averages showing Moody ahead statewide by roughly 10 points, combined with Miami-Dade’s shifting partisan patterns in prior cycles, underpin the current consensus.
