Recent polls ahead of the September 20 Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Landtag election show AfD leading at 35-37%, followed by SPD at 28-32% after recent gains, with Die Linke stable at 11%. This positioning underpins trader consensus favoring Linke for third place, as CDU trails at 8-10% and smaller parties like Grüne and BSW hover near or below the 5% threshold. The SPD's upward movement in late August surveys has narrowed the top gap without altering the expected mid-table order, while CDU weakness sustains the barrier to higher placements for other contenders. With the vote just days away, final turnout and threshold crossings remain the main variables that could shift third-place probabilities.
