Recent forecast model runs from sources including the Japan Meteorological Agency indicate mostly cloudy skies with a 12–55% chance of light rain or drizzle for Tokyo on September 23, which would limit daytime solar heating and cap the daily maximum. This follows a period of heavier rainfall and thunderstorms earlier in the week that have cooled regional air masses. Ensemble guidance shows highs clustered between 24–26°C, aligning with late-September climatological averages of roughly 25°C, though small variations in cloud cover, wind direction from the northeast, and precipitation timing could shift the peak by 1–2°C. Updated JMA briefings and short-range model outputs expected in the next 24–48 hours will likely refine trader consensus around the closely matched 24°C and 25°C outcomes.
