Official National Weather Service observations placed Houston’s maximum temperature on September 14 at 94–95 °F, aligning with late-summer climatology where average highs reach about 90 °F amid persistent high humidity and weak steering flow. Heat-index values climbed above 105 °F as dew points remained elevated, while scattered afternoon convection provided only limited cooling. Model consensus from prior days had consistently indicated mid-90s readings under mostly sunny conditions with minimal frontal influence. This outcome is now locked by verified station data, leaving little scope for revision unless post-processing adjustments alter the official maximum.
