This market will resolve to the bracket within which the price for "Eggs, Grade A, Large (Cost per Dozen) in U.S. City Average" lies when the August data point is published by the St. Louis Fed (https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000708111). The St. Louis Fed bases its numbers for egg prices on the BLS's CPI release. The August release is presently scheduled for September 11, 2026. Resolution of this market will take place upon the update of the St. Louis Fed's chart. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month. The resolution source for this market measures prices to the third decimal place. Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.**Elevated flock sizes and sustained oversupply following 2025 avian influenza recoveries continue to anchor retail egg prices near recent lows, supporting the market's 60.5% concentration on the $2.20–$2.30 bracket for the August BLS U.S. city average.** Wholesale benchmarks for large white shell eggs traded around 36–62 cents per dozen through late August, reflecting production outpacing demand despite steady consumer offtake and limited new HPAI culls. July's $2.19 reading already incorporated the sharp year-over-year decline from 2025 peaks above $6, and August wholesale weakness plus stable input costs (feed, energy) point to limited upside or modest downside in the monthly retail average. Traders appear to price in a narrow range around the prior print rather than renewed volatility, with thinner probabilities on adjacent bins underscoring the view that supply-side pressures will keep the outcome contained absent unexpected demand shifts or late outbreaks. The September 11 BLS release will confirm the exact level.
