Gold (XAUUSD) trades near $4,378 per ounce following a rebound that erased most of the post-FOMC losses after the Federal Reserve's unanimous 25-basis-point hike to the 3.75-4.00% target range on September 16. The dot plot signaled at least one additional hike this year, lifting Treasury yields and supporting the dollar, yet easing oil prices and eight straight sessions of gold ETF inflows have capped downside pressure. With the metal testing resistance near $4,400 and support clustered around $4,235-$4,250, trader positioning reflects a balance between persistent monetary tightening expectations and resilient physical and ETF demand. The week of September 21 features a light U.S. data calendar, including flash PMIs, jobless claims, and University of Michigan sentiment, alongside broader Fedspeak that could refine rate-path expectations and influence near-term price action.
