Recent large-scale releases of Epstein investigative files by the Justice Department, including millions of pages and related materials in 2025–2026, have prompted congressional oversight hearings, subpoenas, and a unanimous House committee contempt recommendation against associate Leon Black over nondisclosure agreements. A federal judge has also set deadlines for further DOJ compliance on redactions. However, department statements have consistently indicated that the disclosures have not produced evidence sufficient to support new criminal investigations or charges against uncharged individuals, consistent with prior internal reviews finding no predicate for additional prosecutions. Ongoing civil litigation and international inquiries have not altered this U.S. charging outlook.
