**Benedita da Silva (PT) holds the strongest position in the Rio de Janeiro Senate race for first place, backed by recent polling gains ahead of the October 4 vote for two seats.** In the latest Quaest survey (conducted September 4–7), she reached 15% of combined vote intentions, up from 10% previously, while Marcelo Crivella (Republicanos) sits at 8% and a cluster including Carlos Jordy (PL), Pedro Paulo (PSD), and Carlos Portinho (PL) trails at 6% each within the margin of error. Paraná Pesquisas similarly places Benedita at 30.7% and Crivella at 20.5%, with others competitive but behind. Traders price her at 66.5% for first place, reflecting her established name recognition, PT-Lula alignment, and momentum in the early official campaign period, contrasted with Crivella’s 23.9% as the main challenger and lower odds for the rest amid high undecided and blank votes.
