Recent polling from early September shows Marília Arraes (PDT) leading the combined vote intentions for Pernambuco’s two Senate seats at 17%, with Humberto Costa (PT) at 14% and Mendonça Filho (PL) at 11%, all within the margin of error and creating a tight contest for the second position. Eduardo da Fonte (PP) follows at 7%, while Túlio Gadêlha (PSD) sits at 4%, with 27% undecided and 18% blank or null. The closeness between Costa and Mendonça reflects divided voter preferences between established left-leaning incumbency and right-leaning challengers aligned with state leadership, alongside limited late-campaign momentum shifts. High undecided shares and the dual-seat structure keep separation dependent on turnout patterns and final-week alignments ahead of the October vote.
