This market will resolve to “Yes” if credible reporting confirms that any entity enters into an agreement to acquire the listed company by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. Mergers where the listed company is subsumed by another entity will count toward a "Yes" resolution. An announced agreement between the listed company and an acquiring entity will qualify for a “Yes” resolution, regardless of whether the acquisition is ultimately completed. The primary resolution source for this market is official information from the listed company and/or its leadership; however, a consensus of credible reporting will also be used.Several announced deals target closing by year-end 2026, supported by elevated strategic M&A volume in technology, energy, and healthcare amid AI integration and portfolio optimization. Recent examples include Analog Devices’ $1.35 billion acquisition of Alif Semiconductor and GE Aerospace’s $11.75 billion purchase of Consolidated Precision Products, both announced in early September. Private equity exits and cross-border activity remain active, though large transactions face antitrust reviews and state-level challenges, as seen in the Paramount-Warner Bros. Discovery matter. Key near-term catalysts include shareholder votes, HSR expirations, and FERC or state utility approvals, with spreads in merger arbitrage reflecting timing and regulatory risk into the final quarter.
