Nasim Nuñez holds the clearest edge in the stolen bases leader market as the consensus favorite, driven by his league-leading total of 46 thefts through mid-September amid a high volume of attempts for the Nationals. Chandler Simpson trails at 41 while maintaining strong contact skills and speed for Tampa Bay, but the gap has widened in recent weeks. Developments such as Jazz Chisholm Jr. landing on the injured list and Nuñez’s brief bereavement list placement have not altered the standings enough to shift momentum, though remaining games and any late surges from players like Bobby Witt Jr. or CJ Abrams could narrow the margin. Trader pricing aligns with Nuñez’s sustained pace and limited realistic paths for challengers to close the deficit before season’s end.
