The Cleveland Guardians and Chicago White Sox remain locked in a tight AL Central race with just over a week left in the 2026 regular season. Cleveland holds a half-game lead at 78-75 after sweeping the decisive games of a three-game series at Progressive Field, capped by rookie Petey Halpin’s go-ahead three-run homer in a 6-3 win on September 16. The White Sox, who had led the division since early July, have dropped seven of their last nine contests and now sit at 77-75 while clinging to the season-series tiebreaker. Detroit and Minnesota trail by more than five games and have been eliminated from division contention. Trader consensus reflects this razor-thin margin and the limited remaining schedule, pricing the two frontrunners nearly even.
