Iowa’s 4th Congressional District remains a solidly Republican seat, with recent presidential results showing double-digit margins for the party and nonpartisan ratings classifying the race as safe or solid for Republicans. Chris McGowan won his party’s nomination unopposed after endorsements from President Trump and House Republican leadership, leveraging his background as Siouxland Chamber of Commerce president, veteran, and economic development advocate to succeed retiring Representative Randy Feenstra. Democrat David Dawson, a former state representative and prosecutor, advanced from a three-candidate primary but trails significantly in fundraising and faces the district’s structural Republican advantage ahead of the November 3 general election. Trader consensus aligns with these factors. Late developments such as major candidate health events or unexpected national shifts could still alter the outcome.
