**Ongoing extreme heat across Southern California, driven by a strong high-pressure system and residual tropical moisture from former Hurricane Marie, positions September 10 as one of the hotter days in the current stretch.** Official National Weather Service forecasts and observations indicate highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s near the coast (such as LAX) with potential for mid-90s or higher in inland or urban areas of Los Angeles, consistent with the market's near-even split favoring 94°F or above. Dew points in the mid-60s to 70s are elevating heat indices and supporting trader emphasis on the upper bins, though model consensus points to gradual moderation later in the week as onshore flow strengthens. Historical September averages near 76–77°F underscore the anomaly, with resolution depending on the official daily maximum reading at the designated station.
