Local government elections are scheduled to be held across Tasmania on October 27, 2026. This market will resolve according to the candidate who becomes the next Mayor of the Central Coast Council area as a result of this election. Temporary, interim, or placeholder mayors appointed before the election will not be considered. If the result of this election isn't known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, the market will resolve to "Other". This market will resolve based on the result of the election, as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as declared by the Tasmanian Electoral Commission (https://www.tec.tas.gov.au/).Incumbent Cheryl Fuller holds a commanding position in the Central Coast Council mayoral race ahead of Tasmania’s October 27 local government elections, reflected in trader consensus pricing her as the clear favorite. As of mid-June 2026, no councillor had declared a challenge against her bid for a second term, while several colleagues focused instead on deputy mayor contests. Fuller’s 2022 victory over then-deputy Garry Carpenter established her record on council finances, regional governance, and community engagement. Carpenter, still serving as a councillor, has cited workload pressures that could limit further campaigns. With nomination deadlines approaching and limited alternative candidates identified, the absence of credible opposition remains the dominant factor sustaining these implied probabilities.
