Republican Nick Begich III, the incumbent since winning the seat in 2024, leads the 2026 race for Alaska’s at-large House district after advancing from the August 18 top-four primary. Recent polls show Begich ahead of independent Bill Hill by double digits in both first-round and final-round rankings under the state’s ranked-choice system. The main Democratic contender, Matt Schultz, withdrew in July, leaving only minor-party Democrats on the ballot and limiting that party’s path to the general election. Alaska’s strong Republican presidential lean and unified GOP support behind the incumbent have produced trader consensus favoring the Republican Party at 83.5 percent, while the Democratic Party sits at 7.5 percent. The November 3 general election remains the key resolution date.
