The upcoming October 9-10, 2026, Czech municipal elections will determine Brno's city council, which then selects the mayor through coalition negotiations rather than direct popular vote. Václav Trojan of ANO leads recent party nominations as the movement's candidate, followed closely by Jakub Hruška heading the KDU-ČSL and STAN alliance and Kamila Zlatušková topping the ODS and TOP 09 list after the prior mayor stepped aside. Trader consensus remains tightly balanced among these frontrunners because no single party holds a clear path to a majority, local party organizations maintain comparable organizational strength, and recent candidate list finalizations have not yet produced decisive polling shifts. Outcomes could separate following intensified autumn campaigning, voter turnout patterns, or post-election bargaining among the largest council groups.
