Israeli forces have conducted airstrikes and issued evacuation orders for Tyre and surrounding areas in southern Lebanon amid the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah, but have not conducted confirmed ground incursions into the municipality itself. Operations have focused on establishing and gradually expanding a security zone several kilometers deep along the border, including limited crossings into nearby villages in the Tyre district such as Al Mansouri. Recent escalations, including the capture of the Ali al-Taher Ridge near Nabatieh in early September 2026 and subsequent strikes, have prompted concerns over deeper advances, yet Israeli statements emphasize completing control within the existing zone rather than urban maneuvers. Diplomatic efforts around ceasefires and territorial handovers to Lebanese forces continue to shape trader views on the low likelihood of entry into Tyre proper.
