This market will resolve according to the total number of valid votes cast in the 2026 midterm election for Senator from West Virginia. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket. If the results of the specified election are not definitively known by March 31, 2027, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to the lowest range bracket. All votes certified for candidates or non-candidate options in the specified election are included. Invalidated or blank votes are not included. In ranked-choice or preferential systems, the first-round vote total will be used. The primary resolution source for this market will be the official results of the 2026 midterm election for Senator from West Virginia, as published by the state electoral authority responsible for certifying the results of the election; however, an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The closely matched trader probabilities between the 400K-450K and 450K-500K turnout ranges for West Virginia's November 3 Senate contest reflect the low-competitiveness dynamics of the race between incumbent Republican Shelley Moore Capito and Democrat Rachel Fetty Anderson. Forecasters rate the seat Solid or Safe Republican, which typically reduces national party investment and voter mobilization in a rural state with an older electorate and historically modest midterm participation. The May 12 primaries produced no major surprises, with Capito securing the GOP nomination and Anderson advancing on the Democratic side amid lower overall primary turnout and continued Republican registration gains. Early voting volumes, get-out-the-vote intensity, and any unexpected late-cycle developments remain the primary variables that could separate the leading bins, consistent with historical non-presidential cycle patterns.
