Recent National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus point to a high near 72°F in Central Park on September 19, driven by a post-frontal northeast flow and building high pressure that will deliver mostly sunny skies and dry conditions after warmer southerly flow earlier in the week. This setup favors afternoon maxima in the 70-72°F range, aligning with the market’s heavy weighting toward the 70-71°F bin. Historical mid-September climatology for NYC shows similar cooling episodes when northerly winds follow frontal passages, reducing the likelihood of readings above 74°F unless models trend warmer. Traders are monitoring the next NWS update and any short-range model shifts that could adjust the exact peak.
