James Talarico holds an 89% implied probability of winning Tarrant County in the 2026 Texas U.S. Senate race, far ahead of Ken Paxton at 7%, according to current trader consensus. Tarrant County’s suburban demographics have shifted leftward in recent cycles, with Democrats posting gains among independents, Hispanic voters, and younger residents amid concerns over the economy and federal policy. Talarico’s strong primary performance, record fundraising exceeding $68 million, and targeted suburban outreach have reinforced this positioning, while Paxton’s primary victory over incumbent John Cornyn consolidated Republican support but left lingering questions about past legal issues. With early voting approaching and both campaigns focusing on turnout in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, recent polling trends showing a competitive statewide contest have translated into elevated odds for the Democrat carrying this key county.
