Trader consensus centers on the 48–51°F range due to National Weather Service forecast models projecting overnight radiational cooling under clear skies and light winds typical for Denver’s Front Range in mid-September. These conditions promote surface heat loss after daytime highs near 70–75°F, with a stable air mass limiting mixing and keeping the minimum in that narrow band. Climatological baselines show average September lows around 50°F, aligning with the dominant market-implied probabilities. As the observation window closed on September 20, final settlement depends on the official minimum from Denver-area stations, with any post-forecast adjustments or station data releases representing the last variables that could shift remaining trader positions.
