Official National Weather Service forecasts for Central Park place today's high near 83°F under mostly cloudy skies with southerly flow and a modest shower chance developing later, aligning with the market's dominant 82-83°F outcome. This reflects above-average warmth for mid-September, where the 1991-2020 climatological mean high is about 76°F, driven by persistent southerly winds and a stalled frontal boundary that has maintained muggy conditions without allowing full solar heating or significant cooling. Model consensus shows limited spread, with afternoon temperatures expected to peak in the low-to-mid 80s before any showers suppress further rises, while recent observations confirm morning readings in the low 70s climbing steadily. Upcoming hourly updates from NOAA stations will refine the exact maximum ahead of market resolution.
