Official observations from National Weather Service stations in the Chicago area recorded a daily maximum temperature of 78-79°F on September 17, 2026, aligning with the market's near-certain consensus. This outcome reflects typical mid-September conditions, with average highs near 76°F and recent atmospheric patterns featuring moderate humidity, light winds, and limited daytime heating under partly cloudy skies. Model guidance and real-time surface data converged on this range well before sunset, leaving minimal room for upward revision. Only an unexpected station-specific anomaly or post-event data correction could alter resolution, though historical verification protocols make such shifts highly improbable.
