Incumbent Suzan DelBene holds a commanding position in Washington’s 1st Congressional District ahead of the November 3 general election, reflecting the district’s consistent Democratic lean and her established record since 2012. The August 4 top-two primary confirmed this dynamic, with DelBene advancing comfortably at over 53 percent while Republican Mary Silva placed second near 27 percent amid minimal opposition funding. Forecasters rate the seat solid or safe Democratic, consistent with DelBene’s prior 63 percent general-election margin and substantial campaign resources exceeding $3.5 million. Silva’s limited fundraising and profile create significant structural barriers. Late developments such as an unforeseen scandal, health event, or unusually strong national Republican wave remain the primary variables that could narrow the gap before ballots are cast.
