Trader consensus heavily favors a 70-71°F overnight low for Chicago on September 9, 2026, driven by National Weather Service observations at O’Hare showing a minimum of 71°F at 7:06 a.m. amid persistent mild conditions. Above-normal warmth, with a daytime maximum of 80°F and elevated dew points near 70°F, limited radiational cooling under mostly cloudy skies and light winds. This aligned with late-summer patterns where southerly flow and high humidity suppressed typical September nocturnal drops toward the 60°F climatological baseline. Model consensus prior to the date had consistently projected minimums in the upper 60s to low 70s, with minimal downside risk from cold advection, keeping probabilities for 67°F or below near 1%. Final data releases from NWS climatological reports reinforced this outcome range.
