Democrats hold a slight edge in the core four Senate contests—Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, and Maine—where winning all four would deliver the net gains needed for chamber control given the current 53-47 Republican majority and vice-presidential tiebreaker. Recent polling averages show former North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper maintaining a solid lead in the open GOP seat, while Jon Ossoff defends Georgia competitively and challengers in Michigan and Maine remain within striking distance of Republican incumbents or nominees. Candidate recruitment, including strong Democratic fields after Michigan and Maine primaries, combined with suburban and independent voter trends, underpins the 57.5% trader consensus for a sweep. Tight margins across these toss-ups, however, leave room for shifts from late-cycle turnout, national economic signals, or campaign events before November.

A candidate will be considered to represent a party in the event that he or she is the nominee of the party in question. Candidates other than the Democratic nominee (e.g., Greens, Libertarian, independent) will not count. Candidates who run as independents will not be considered a Democrat, regardless of any affiliation they may have with the party.
The resolution source for this market is the Associated Press, Fox News, and NBC. This market will resolve once all three sources call all relevant races for the same candidate. If all three sources don’t call a relevant race for the same candidate, this market will use the official certification of the election results for resolution.
