Sarah Trone Garriott holds a substantial lead in trader pricing for Iowa’s 3rd congressional district because her proven record of winning competitive Republican-leaning seats, including multiple state senate victories, aligns with the district’s recent narrow margins and toss-up ratings from major forecasters. Both candidates cleared their June 2026 primaries without serious opposition, leaving the November 3 general election as a head-to-head contest between the Republican incumbent and the Democratic state senator. Garriott’s modest fundraising advantage and emphasis on health care and rural issues have helped position her ahead in the implied probability, while national midterm patterns historically favor the opposition party. Zach Nunn’s military background and legislative experience keep him viable in this battleground seat, though current consensus reflects Garriott’s stronger positioning in recent assessments of the race.

A candidate's party will be determined by their ballot-listed or otherwise identifiable affiliation with that party at the time all of the 2026 House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources. A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.
This market will resolve based on the result of the election as indicated by a consensus of credible reporting. If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
