Incumbent George Harvie of Achieving for Delta holds a narrow lead in trader pricing for the October 17, 2026, Delta mayoral election, reflecting his established record and remaining council slate amid a competitive three-way contest. A 2025 split within Achieving for Delta, which removed several councillors now aligned with challenger Dylan Kruger’s One Delta party, has fragmented the former dominant slate and elevated issues of Metro Vancouver governance reform, fiscal accountability, infrastructure priorities, and local decision-making transparency. Kruger, backed by recent endorsements such as from port workers, positions his campaign on a “back-to-basics” platform contrasting Harvie’s approach, while third candidate Melissa Granum of Delta First trails significantly. Scheduled all-candidates forums in late September and early October, along with ongoing campaigning on taxes and regional relations, represent key near-term catalysts that could further separate the top contenders before general voting day.
