Paul St-Pierre Plamondon leads the Parti Québécois, which has held a consistent polling edge near 29 percent ahead of the October 5 election, translating into strong seat projections that favor his party winning the most seats and forming government. This positioning underpins the elevated market consensus around his selection as premier. Christine Fréchette, the incumbent CAQ leader since April, has seen modest recent gains from her campaign focus on the economy and tariffs, narrowing the gap in some surveys but leaving her party behind in overall support. Charles Milliard’s Liberals and smaller-party leaders trail further due to weaker provincial momentum. Recent debates and platform exchanges on sovereignty, immigration, and fiscal issues have reinforced these standings without major shifts in the final weeks before voting.
